I am so pissed right now... partly at EA/Dice and partly at myself. I checked the ranking requirements some time ago after reaching 150,000 points to see what was required to get to the next rank and to see if I could get 2 stars (Major General) instead of 1(Brigadere General). I checked all the required badges and spent many hours getting the ones required to get 2 stars (Major General) instead of 1 star (Brigadere General). I flew my countless hours in jets and got all the kills. Got all the veteran badges for anti-air, resupply, etc.

So last night I FINALLY passed the 180,000 point mark ( http://bf2s.com/player/43896444/ ) and waited anxiously to hear the drums and see my shiny new stars. After a while I figured it was just broken so I went to bed. I went home for lunch and decided to log on and get a quick kill to see if I would rank up. DENIED.

So I looked at UBAR again... you have to have 1080 hours of play to get ANY of the general ranks!!! WTF??!?!?! You're telling me that because I achieved over 180,000 in 1025 hours (55 hours too quickly) that I'm permenantly stuck at Colonel??? LAME!@@!!

I guess I hadn't looked in a while or I just failed to notice that stupid requirement. I feel totally ripped off. Lieutenant General (3 stars) is at 200,000 which is only 20,000 points now, but it's got a 1440 hour requirement!!!!! WTF were they thinking? I would have to sit idle for probably 350 hours without getting any points just in order to get that rank. No way will I do that. This is so very very lame. I guess I'll go ahead and start playing that copy of BF2142 that's been gathering dust for a few weeks.

get less than 180k points and then get it again and u *should* rank up

The reqs are 180.000 points AND 1080 hours, so it doesn't matter in which order you get it, once you have completed both reqs you should be promoted.

I am pretty sure you have to already be over 1080 hours when you reach 180,000. You don't get ranked when you reach the hours. And I don't think I want to tk my way down to below 180k and then idle for 55 hours. I like keeping up with my k/d, SPM, accuracy, etc. as well. Oh well... I just needed to vent and warn others that are approaching 180,000 that they need hours too... so you might need to slow down if you're a fast scorer.

A couple of peeps in my squad are well over 200,000 pts and are only 1-star because of the time requirements. Oh well. Just get the time requirements and get the rank.

Not true. CTD-Apache reached 180,000 pts and was at like 900 hrs played. Once he got the 1080 hrs played, he got promoted to 1-star.

I have been paying very close attention to my hours played for this very reason. That is why I left my air/helo badges/medals for last. I knew they would take me the most time and give me the fewest points in return, especially since I am such a poor flyer and am pretty much learning as I go.
I know that when I reach the 180K and 200K marks I will have the needed time acrewed.

Pretty sure you'll rank up once you get the hours. You don't need the hours before you get the points. You'll get your rank and wow, your e-penis must be huge!

i have the same thing i dont have enough time in the game but plenty of points, dont really care about the star but ill be getting it sometime soon once i play enough, you still get it once you get the amount of time in.
just keep playing bf2 instead of 2142
