I saw a few months we could trick out the bf2.exe so we can start the game without the cinematic at the beginning. anyone know how to do so? also, we can add a auto-login on our player so we dont have to hit enter (i suddendly feel lazy). If anyone know how to edit the .exe, the help would be appreciated

you go into the the battlefield 2 folder under C:program files(insert other crap here) and look for a folder named "movies" Just delete everything in there and no more intro
you are better off renaming them there files. sometimes, BF2 doesn't like not having those files. naming them back is alot easier than trying to reload them in your BF2 program file.-=]NS[=-Eagle wrote:

i renamed them into .crap file and the game still read them. i tried to renamed the file with CrapIntro.bik.crap
Yeah, I have what you are on about. Right click your bf2 shortcut icon on the desktop and go to properties. In the TARGET bar type this:
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +playerName YOURUSERNAME HERE +playerPassword YOURPASSWORDHERE
Of course, yours might vary depending on where your BF2 is saved, but the concept is the same. Enjoy

Im not saying yours dont work DecJW, perhaps it does however its different from the one Ive been using in my shortcut for months.
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +username *~blaster~* +playerPassword cornflakes
Also for the movies, go to C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies and make a new folder called removed and put everything except menu.bik and menu_loggedin.bik in it. That will get rid of the loading movies and stupid logos. You could put those 2 .bik files in as well but that makes the game screens look bare and ugly tbh but its up to you.
hth

deleting the file is not a good idea, u might have problems with patching later.
check this http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_9.html
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" + restart 1 +playerName your playername +playerPassword your password

well, i figured out why it didnt worked. I first changed name of the files correctly, but i start my game via my bf2sf execute. i had to rename the files in sf's folder aswell.
thanks everyone, i wish i could give karma to everyone

Its better to rename the files instead of deleting them, also make sure that. *having a look*-=]NS[=-Eagle wrote:

that the movie named : welcome.bik isn't changed, because I heard it might start making problems. For the rest just add ''ky'' to the other movies so it will look like this: Dice.bik -> Dice.bikky
Or EA.bik will be EA.bikky. If you ever were to decide to change them back you only need to remove the ''ky'' and that eliminates the fact that you need to remember the original names which is more appropiate that name it into crap.bik because then you don't know whether it was the EA or the Dice movie right?
As for finding it,
Go to the installation folder
Double Click: mods
Double Click: BF2 (Or xpack if you want to get rid of those)
Double Click: Movies
Start changing the names
Exit folder
Start BF2
Enjoy the nothingness lol
Have fun playing
i changed them to EA.crap or welcome.crap They're all .bik files anyway
