It appears that the polls are swinging in favor of Republicans in the last day.

Vote tomorrow.  Polls mean nothing imo.  Even the "scientific" ones are skewed because they only talked to a small segment of voters.

Would be nice, but there is too much at stake here to waste your vote by going independant....

Good idea, if it would actually end the two party system.  In today's America, an independent candidate will never win.  In light of that, I vote Republican.

Why vote for one party or the other?  They're both guilty of voting against their party platforms.  Vote for whichever candidate is going to best represent the place you live...

You know, its interesting that you say this. I would like to point out that if a real, viable candidate from a third party appears on the stage, a election becomes much more winnable. In the United States, the most recent example is Ross Perot, though it looks like Senator Lieberman may take his place.

Despite what you may hear from the major parties, Perot came closer to upsetting the 1992 election that anyone thought possible. There is a large school of political thought that believes if Perot had 1. appealed to minorities better, and 2. stayed in the race the entire election, he would have won.

Remeber kids, when there are three candidates for an election in the US, you only have to get 34% of the vote to win. And that's a pretty low bar to clear.

*shrugs*  I'm not sure if I'm even going to vote.  It's a broken system, and since I'm not rich, it's not like my voice is really going to be heard....

I tend to not vote for the obscure political offices across the state so much as the propositions that are up.  That being said, I agree with this:

Well if you're voting Dem, then I'd rather you didn't.  Also if you can convince your LIKE MINDED friends/parents/whoever not to vote, then +1 for you!

It's the duty of every citizen to vote.  Period.  If you don't vote, don't complain for the next 6 years about the legislature and for the next 4 about your governor.

if polls were accurate, then elections would be unnecessary, while it is heartening i still take it with a grain of salt. after all, every midterm in the second presidential term has lost an average of 29 seats for the incumbent party since WW2. I had some interesting theories on all these poll swings but haven't been on for four days, now it's election day, so i guess i'll just have to wait to see what's going on so i don't make a fool of myself.

Thanks, you inspired me to vote afterall...  although I'm not a Democrat.  I did vote for several of them though, in order to balance out the power in my area.
