I've been playing for sometime.  No issues.  last week I started game, logged in, chose a server, game loaded, got to kit choice screen and no mouse or keyboard recognition.  Since I have defragged, ran anti virus numerous times, ran adaware numerous times.  Start with firewall off.  Start with firewall on.  Start with A/V off.  Start with A/V on.  Start with both on/off.  Always the same result--Get to kit choice screen--cursor frozen in center of screen.  Only way to get out is Ctrl/Alt/Del.  Any ideas???

Plug in your keyboard and mouse. Kidding.

I dunno what the matter is.

Try Moving the BF2 folder in My docs to the desktop, CUT it dont copy it and reload bf. Redo you account (a pain yes) and see if it still does it.

Yeah, as stated before, reset your controls to default.

I've seen this happen a couple times. I believe it comes from the file your control settings are stored in somehow becoming corrupted.

if that doesn't work, try uninstalling everything and reinstalling, and make sure everything in the bf2 folder in my documents gets cleared.

Thanks, so I had already uninstalled anyway.  Well I reinstalled, downloaded 1.4, went to options and set default (just in case) and away we g....Same thing!  What is really frustrating is that you wait so long to get a game started  and just when you join the server, wham...frozen cursor!  Any other ideas??

Yes.  Delete the folder: "Battlefield 2" from My Documents (this folder is not deleted when you uninstall the game).  This should reset all input devices and controls.

+1 me if this works

So when I add/Remove I am asked if I want to delete profiles for the game.  Of course I don't want to lose my "profile" and ahve to start from scratch.  If this is actually asking about any "profile changes" that I have made locally and not my actual "profile" maintained by EA then I'm OK to delete those and still be able to log back on to my same "profile" once I have reinstalled correct?

Yes.  Its all local information.  Once you run the game again it'll recreate all those files with default ones and your game should work.  All you'll have to do is retrieve your account, login, and play a game.
