I need to know your system specs, for one I noticed you did a system restore. The first thing I'd look at just to make sure is; the Virtual Memory. Make sure the paging file size is AT LEAST the same size as your systems RAM. 1 gig of RAM = 1024mb, most recommend to have at least double your systems RAM, that's just insufficient. Another thing, check task manager for processes that are running, see how many, CPU/RAM usage etc. Post some updates, or hit me up on xfire I'll be more than willing to help you. I honestly do NOT think wireless has any such issues with this if you're getting a connection of 54mb/s on the LAN.
Sound like loading pauses to me. HDD not being able to read everything thats coming at it fast enough.
I tryed high textures and terrain the other day and got noticable loading pauses around 2-3 seconds, and these lasted for a good 5 minutes into the round, so I turned textures and terrain to medium and its silky smooth.
I recommend clearing your shader cache. My documents/Bf2 folder/mods etc.. To make sure BF2 is running your intended settings.
Also check virtual memory and make sure its set to at least 1.5x your RAM amount.
I have 1GB RAM= 1534VM. I have 1534 set for both max and min.
But these are without a doubt loading pauses, defrag your HDD.
