I'm a bit new to BF2, due to my system only being adequate for BF1942, I had to stick with 1942 up until now. I was able to get some $ together and built a decent system. Enough for BF2 on all medium settings. And the game looks quite phenominal. And after 1000 hours of BF1942, BF2 is definately a sight for sore eyes graphics wise.

AMD 64 3200+
Was around $400, ordering all hardware off newegg. Cheap for what I got if you ask me. Took about 15 minutes to build.
So i'm up to my old ways again and thats snipeing, I did it 24/7 in 1942 and BF2 seems pretty awesome for sniping. I dont know much about maps in BF2 nor good sniper spots.
I have played each map at least once in a 32 man online server just to see what there like and i'm quite impressed visually. Very good graphics compared to 1942. One map I liked in particular was Sharqi Peninsula. I didn't take much likeing to Strike At Karkand nor mashtuur City. Karkand was just a nade spam fest (reminds me of 1942 crate spammers hehe..annoying as heck). Mashtuur City was alright, but it felt to wide open for me. The other maps were more vehicle oriented.
Sharqi is a good mix of all the urban maps, and it's a map i'm going to be playing alot of, so I might as well get to know the in's and out's of it. If theres anything I learned in 1942 its to conceal your silouhette (however you spell it). The rooftops dont seem like a good place to do that, and sniping on a roof is like holding up a massive sign that says "IM OVER HERE", so im looking for good camoflauge areas. grass, shrubs etc..
