And, to be fair, his death was his own fault. He should be nominated for a Darwin...............
Personally I think its been way to soon. Would have been better (and less insensitive) if it was aired this time next year (or possibly early '08)
No one noticed that the scene did not take place in hell and the the news is totally botched because of this. If you watched it was at that hotel they rented. The people who make the news can suck a nut cause they failed.
Look, its not his profile as much, buts its the fact of releasing an episode featuring him in "Hell" 8 weeks after his death.
His family is still mourning for Chirst sake!
'Irwin's manager John Stainton did not return calls yesterday but this week said he did not log onto the internet because of the "distasteful'' Crocodile Hunter material.' -Sunday Tasmanian.
'To lampoon somebody's death like that is unacceptable and so soon after the event is grossly insensitive.'
- John Beyer, Britain's Media Watchdog.

If Kim Jong Il died would it be fair to lampoon his death after 8 weeks?
No, you dont make fun of dead people, simple as that, especially weeks after their death. Years maybe, but not weeks.jsnipy wrote:

The Glass House, The Chaser's War on Everything, CNNNN, Spicks and Specks. They're Australian humour. Not making fun of dead people.TeamZephyr wrote:

But the chasers did piss off a shitload of people... making them fight at a footy game I recall... Making fun of dead people is nothing, not like your gonna bring em back to life... Hell, everyone made fun of hitler when he died.Macca wrote:

I'm fighting for values that aren't around in this world anymore, I'm fighting for the dignity of Steve and his family.
Of course people made fun of Hitler when he killed himself, he was a tyrant. It was a properganda niche for the Allies.
Making fun of someone that done alot to protect the wildlife of Australia and help conservation is just not right.
just a few words for you... He was Hitler you know the man who murdered millions.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

Back to the main topic... I'm Aussie, and i liked his shows, yes he was a nutter but he was funny and a good bloke. but thats not the reason i don't like this idea of south park showing him in hell, i reckon it is bad because of his family is still mourning, how would u like if a few weeks after your father died they showed a episode of him in hell?

No. I don't believe it is.
You said that if somebody fucked with Steve they fucked with Australia. How is that not talking for Australia?
HM, i do believe he did not mean it in the way you are seeing it... But this has nothing to do with the topic, we are debating whether it is right to show this Man on a south park episode (even though we wont be able to change a thing) you don't need to point out pointless things like that.Bubbalo wrote:

In MY opinion, its not right to do it, its very distasteful.
But it seems that Bubbalo is only doing this to feed his ego.
So, you declaring that all Australians back Steve Irwin is you stating your opinion on the issue?
You, sir, are a twit!
You, sir, are a twit!
WTF? how did you just get that? he just stated that it was only HIS opinion... y do u continue to try a milk this for every drop you can get? (bad metaphor )Bubbalo wrote:
