Im not calling you a liar, but I cannot believe how many people on these forums claim to have parents/relatives/friends who work for EA or DICE, the CIA, MI5, in the army, PM of the UK, President of USA, director of the FBI, a multi-billionaire, football managers or players or even the leader of Al Queda or whatever.

Ricardo,

Not doubting what you and others have said happened...

but....

HOW THE F*CK DID THE HACKER CHANGE YOUR BF2 ACCOUNT PASSWORD???????????

A friend of mine wanted to change his and we spent ages looking online trying to find a way to change the BF2 account password. All we could find were forum posts with people complaining that EA do not allow you to change your BF2 account password. Gamespy account pass can be changed, yes, but not your BF2 account.

If y'all don't believe me, try it for yourself. See if you can change your own BF2 account password. I'd love to hear how you did it, if it can be done.

Login to FilePlanet with the e-mail you used for your BF2 account and the password, then change it from there.

Um, I already had a fileplanet account which I created long before BF2 came out. I tried logging in with my BF2 account email and password but it wouldn't let me log in as I used a different password for my fileplanet and Bf2 accounts.

So do you actually get an option within fileplanet to change your BF2 account password? Cos I'm buggered if I can see one.

Thanks anyway for trying to help.

Sucks ya got your account hacked, hope ya get it back allright. As other people have pointed out try and make your password something that can't be guessed that easily, make it like insanely long or something, that seems to do the trick for me.
Cheers dude, I have changed it to something more appropriate now. To be honest I really didn't think someone hacking my online gaming account was anything to get worried about. Some people are just sad I guess..and I don't think it was as simple as him guessing my password if I understand correctly what Prodie and duk0r are saying.
me 2, i mean who wants to steal my account??, my stats aren't that good, therefore i suspect someone from the forums *Shifting Eyes* or perhaps my worst victim.

i was watching the original posts about this a few days ago and thought it was b s from the get go. although i dont exactly agree with what you were saying, this guy is a dick head. i look at my computer as money. so if someone on the street walked up and tried to take money from me they would have a bad month or so of recovery(if they had a gun; if they were unarmed then they would eat pepper spray). so if someone over the internet wants to try to take money from me i would take the full course of action. its such a lame ass thing to do, and over a video game. i bet a bunch of people around here would benefit from getting laid......

From my little Angel...

"Hi again Richard.

Fixed J  I have changed the email in the system back to what it was – what you need to do the minute you get this email is reset your password immediately!!

We aren’t sure exactly how this is occurring yet, because it is not happening to many users, and not happening to regular GameSpy clients, just certain people that play BF2.  We were thinking some sort of forum, website etc that might be in common between these people.  If someone is a forum admin or server admin and people are using the same passwords to log into forums as they do their game… well we know where that could lead.  It could even be a common server that some people are playing on.  Servers download things to people’s systems, so an unscrupulous person may hit people with Trojans via this method.

If you have any forums sites or regular servers that you play on, let me know.  I’m jotting them all down in the hopes we can find some common thread between people.  Also if you can copy and paste the account email that was sent to you from us with the users IP address would also be helpful.

If you have any further problems please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Kind regards

Aileen"

The little beauty. Everything works fine now and my estimation of Gamespy has gone up considerably. If anyone else has their account hacked just do what I did. It'll only take a week or so and you won't have to go through EA's online 'support'.

I was also reading with interest last week when this little escapade went down.
I'm glad to hear things are going in the right direction, and Ricardo Blanco got his accounts back.

I told them exactly what happened and what was hacked. The guy said it was irrelevant what he hacked and how he did it. The fact he gained access to what was a private passworded account seemed to be the important factor.
Exactly.  This is the real world, and too many people don't understand that there are consequences for their actions.  The only defence this little f*cker will have is "aww, I was just messing around, I didn't mean it.  It's only xxx, it's not that big a deal."  Hey, guess what, that's not gonna cut it.  The perp crossed a big fat line when he went from having a disagreement with RicardoBlanco to taking over his account, and there should be repercussions.
