Earlier this week, I got BF2142. So I installed it and it was working. the "EA Popup" message says " upgrade to 1.01" so I go to EA Downloader and d/l it.
I double click the shortcut on my desktop, "Memory.dll not found" wtf?
So I research and it is a DirectX issue (I believe). I d/l the new DirectX, still same error.
For some reason I think, lets go into start button -> EA Games -> Play Battlefield 2142.
IT WORKS. (can you hear the bum-baba bum bum intro?)
Why in the world would the shortcut on the desktop not work, and the shortcut in the start menu work!?!?!? And this is after upgrading to 1.01...
At this point, I don't care! I wanna play.
And that's how it all started for me...
