So here's my problem:
I've made a new OS installation after running the old for over a year.
So I installed BF2, SF, Boosterpacks, BF2142 and a few other games. The system runs fine, updated Windows Service Packs, other Updates, latest drivers etc. After I've installed all I wanted to play a round BF2. Connected to one of my favourite servers and...the lag-hell begins. No matter what BF I play it lags really like hell. Last night on a english Warlord Server I got a ping from above 1.000!!!!
BF2142 lags too but not so hard.
Before the new OS installation all BF games run absolute perfectly. I've searched the forums for a similar problem/solution, tried all the tweaks for lag reduction, updated Punkbuster, renamed the BF2.exe and stuff like that. But it keeps lagging, it's unplayable.
What I wonder now is that other games run very good. I try Enemy Territory, Quake 4 and Counter Strike Source. Without any lags. Called my Internet Provider...nope. All fine with my connection he says after checking the connection. I've also applied the 1.4 Patch again which I got from EA Downloader to be sure it's not corrupt.
So what can I do?! Any suggestions? Should I reinstall BF2 and Bf2142? Reinstall my OS again?
