Hi fellas

I would like to hear your opinion on this particular subject - Killing with 1 or 2 shots with the pump shotty at medium range, while bunny hooping.

It's normal, on the servers where I usually play, to see good close distance pump shotty users @ Karkand, roaming through the alleys in search for victims. However what I've noticed in the last couple of weeks is that certain players, not that many, are starting to get increadibly deadly at medium distance with that weapon (pump shotty); they even win most of the duels against good assault rifle users (ak101, g36e, m16... etc).

I was increadulous today, when I saw a guy that got about 44:7 by the end of the map (playing as USMC Enginner with the Pump Shotty @ Karkand), coming from the hills all happy and shooting medics with ak's as if it was pure cake. o.O

I mean I'm not that bad with it, at close distance, still I miss a lot, even up close (most of the times when the target is running sideways to me), because I haven't practiced enough with it, I think. Therefore I have no doubt that there're tons of players, who can use it better than I do. I just never expected to see such an increadible performance at medium distance with a weapon that was made for close contact only, at least that's what I thought until the last few weeks. o.O

Respect to those who mastered the Pump Shotty to this point.

What's your say on this?

Cya on the battlefield,

I'm that good with it too.  I recommend leaving off the bunny hopping part, that is a straight bitch tactic.

I've never liked the automatic shotguns and i think the pump shotguns are much better. 1 direct hit in the torso is an instant death and you don't need to reload every time you killed someone.

I think my best infantry kill streak of a little over 20 was by killing people with the pump shotgun on karkand.

Haha yeah, the M11-87 is pure ownage I'd say..If you play devil's perch with that thing it's all over. You can consistently get 40+ kills on a normal 32 person server with full pop if you have good aim with it. All I can think everytime I do it is "I bet this will never happen when I have the hours to get the expert badge.." hehe At range if they go prone after you hit them a couple times, normally the pistol will kill them in 1-2 hits. Fierce kit in the right situation.

I love it, becuase people rarely expect you to kill them with it.

Enemy: Pfft, gay little pump shotgun, he can't kill me with that. I'll just stand here and spray him, no need for evasive action.

Never had a problem personally with killing them. Proning is probably the best idea. He loses all that surface area in which to land pellets in, and you get the accuracy boost you need to put mr hopper on his ass fast.

Particularly funny are those ones that try to do that vs PKM. They last all of 2 seconds. PKM is the ultimate anti hop weapon, because it doesn't care so much about accuracy as it does just laying down a wall of fire.

I got a team damage penalty for shooting a guy with the one shot of the M11 from halfway across the carrier on Wake, and a friend dropped me to 2 bars of life from the chinese hangars on Daqing while I was standing at the chopper pad in one shot with the NOR.

The gun is random in its patterns, but it is still extremely deadly at medium range.  There is a good chance you will minimally get hit by atleast one pellet, doing 15% damage, you end up getting hit by a couple more and thats 50% of your life gone.  I have yet to see anyone that is consistantly deadly with it at medium range, but I have definitly had my share of extremely cheap kills with them.

But there's nothing like a good-reflexed close range shot to the enemy's chest.
BAMMMM.
Ah, the feel of power.
I always use M11-87 or NOR1982 when they're available on my army

Pump you later.

I prefer the dao over the pumps, but the pumps are still damn good shotguns. I've think what makes the dao better than the pumps is defiantly not accuracy pumps are more accuracte and more powerful. But at close range i can put three blasts into the enemy before he fires his one deadly shot.

Not to mention the dao is better in standard infantry combat because if you come against a group of infnatry with the pumps most likely you will drop one but the others will drop you. With the dao you will probably take atleast twowith you. Though once i took out a whil;e sqaud with the dao with barely a scratch on me. (it was on one of the alleys on a city map i don't recall which but i just put up a wall of pellets and they all dropped. only one shot and he was the first to die.)

I also prefer the dao because in most public servers the AT class play a more vital role than the engineer. though the engineer is a needed class especialyl on city maps. (ahh the mines come in handy.)

Engineer with the M1187 is the best (well my favorite at least) class in the game. Absolutley dominant close in and very effective at mid range. Learn how to use your pistol and you become excellent at range.. On top of that you  have very effective anti-tank capability (AT mine on rear deck, then drop a nade under the tracks). And don't for get you can help yourself/teamates/commander with your trusty wrench.

MOst of my tks are from mines yes. But if not always. What i try and do is place them and stay near if no enemy vehicles come after a certain amount of time. (time depending on map.) i will use my wrench and take the mines back up. you do know that with your wrench you can pick up yours or enemy mines.

So just don't leave any mines aorund unless you know an enemy vehicle will hit it before friendly. Personally i think the skull should be bigger so that you can't miss it even if your not watching where the hell your going. (i have hit friendly mines before, but accidents happen. though i've nenver punished for any tks from friendly mines except for once where some assmonkey put the mine in front of my apce and behind it purposely because i wouldn't let him have it. (i don't whore vehichles much and usually will give them up. but that time i wanted the apc for alittle while was working on a badge or something don't remember exactly why.) Anyway i punished his ass because he did it on purpose not accident.
