I'm not buying it at the moment because the demo didnt appeal to me. I'll possibly get it for Xmas or after because my friends say its good and the trailer and maps look fun.
No option for, "I'm not buying BF 2142 yet, because my computer sucks *** and can't handle it".

Personally, I would buy it if there was an infantry only mode. I just can't stand playing engineer all the time. If there was this mode, then I might even overlook the fact that the game was made by EA, and the fact that they put spyware into it.

I bought it but regret it now since I made a bogus ea account to try it out before I had to leave. Turns out you can only have one master account per cd-key, and I lost both my rank ups ( one from veterans + one from ebgames pre-order) and my alias. I emailed EA games a week ago to see if they can help me anyway, still waiting on a response.....Bastards. If they cant help me I wont be buying another copy.
The star wars crap is lame, they should have redone the 2003 game of the year on the new engine: Battlefield 1942
If our year was 2142 ide buy it but its not and im into modern combat....the guns and things arent even exsisting and probably never will be, other might not agree, but i just dont like it and never will

I like Battlefield 2 because of the realism. AK-47's, grenades, jeeps, tanks, choppers all exist and it's easy to submerse yourself in the game. I tried the 2142 demo and it just feel like any typical arcade game. Sure the graphics are nice, and it's combat, but Battlefield 2 has just as good of graphics and better, more realistic combat.
I also think it's pretty lame that EA basically just changed the skins and released the game, using the same BF2 engine. It should've been an add-on to BF2, like Special Forces.

for all the beta/demo haters, i felt the same way. buy the damn game and then tell me u dont like it. i fucking love it now.
The game is awesome. Blows away BF2 imo. I logged in over 300 hours of BF2 and BF2142 is a lot more fun to me.
