I got my Veteren Engineer and Veteren Engineer Combat Specialist in the same round on Leviathan a few days ago. I actually wasn't trying for them at all, it was just a long round and I stuck with my squad and fixed them up.

for all the guys bitchin' about 25 heal points, better read the Wiki section. you WILL find out that :

Heal Points
Heal points are earned, while being a medic, by either discarding a med-pack or holding the med-pack in the near proximity of your patients. Increasing a team member’s health with 100% on his health bar gives you a heal point. However it is impossible to heal one person for 100% in one go (this is called a revive). It is an additive record, healing multiple bits and pieces will bring you to the same equivalent, and thus earning a heal point. Each heal point gives you 1 point, but you do not earn heal points for the same person within 15 seconds.

Repair Points
Repair Points are earned while using your handy dandy wrench as engineer and repairing 100% of damage from a vehicle or commander asset. Note that the vehicle should be occupied by a friendly unit. This is an additive record. A completely destroyed artillery gun will give you one repair point. However, you will need 2 half destroy tanks, since it is impossible to repair a fully destroyed vehicle. Repairing bridges or empty vehicles do not give you repair points.

how long does it actualy take to get 1 rep.-point? wanna now how long 25 would take
Ive found that it takes approximately 40 seconds of non-stop uninterupted wrenching to get 1 repair point. You can usually only get 40 seconds of repairing in a row if a commander asset is completely destroyed or if youre in a vehicle that is constantly taking damage while you repair. At that rate it would take about 16 minutes 40 seconds of non-stop wrenching to get 25 points.

you also get repair points while in a vehicle as driver, I flew a BH around on one map that no one ever used, I flew near the artillery to repair it, then flew around to offer lifts, only a couple of people took the lifts,   I then flew to uncaped flags or places that needed cap or defending, dropped them out and flew around some more, i took damage sometimes but I just flew high, switched to a back seat and repaired while the helo spun higher into the air, once repaired I flew back down to ground level and looked for things to repair.  So you can get a couple of points doing that, plus helo time.  I landed ontop of a silo building and got into gunners spot and shot many people, got accused of camping but I was not going to leave the helo by myself and go down to an occupied place with 10 or more persons in it.  Got one of my ribbons from this, flew off and repaired, and transported,  rinse and repeat.

Wow, I'm glad I read this before attempting my vet repair badge.  So riding around and repairing your own tank gets you no repair points?!?

if you get out of a vehicle and no one is in the vehicle you are repairing... then the vehicle becomes neutral and though you are repairing it you get no credit.  But some vehicles you can repair while in, humvees (in the back), Black Hawks (again while in the back).

You can repair other team objects that are damaged while being driver or in a vehicle next to your team object.

Veteran was hard. It was difficult to find people that asked for medic and not run away.
