Here's some test results, comparing it with 7900GS: http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35148

Its supposed to be $200 so I would wait until it drops to MSRP and find one... at the price the X1900XT 256mb is a better buy.

X1950Pro is on par with a 7900GT but for $250+ the X1900XT has better performance...

lol so Nvidia messes with their driver software, while ATI doesnt mess with the software, just messes with the hardware.

theres always some new ATI chip thats only a little better than its first version

1600PRO-->1650PRO
and a myriad of others.

More graphic memory doesn't always mean better performance.

The X1950Pro is the 80nm process designed to take out the X1900GT. Its supposed to be $200, give or take, but because of the short supply ATI failed to get enough out so the price is around $300. Anyone who buys for this price is stupid.

It's the same thing with both companies.  It's called a product refresh.

I have a x1900 xtx in my other machine. It runs too hot for me to consider the 1950.

Heat and power consumption are way down on this card compared to yours.  The X1950 Pro is a 12 pipe card, with clocks lower than your X1900XTX.  It also has like 32 or 36 shader pipes compared to your 48.  Lastly, it is made with an 80nm die, Vs. the 90nm die used in the manufacturing of your XTX.

My X1950XTX that I just got last week hasn't given me any problems with noise.

Your X1900XTX outperforms this card by alot...this is a midrange card. Yours is a high-end card.

And Agent Dung Bomb is correct this is a totally new core, RV570, and it is 80nm. (= fast, quiet, AND COOL!)

This is the best card out there for around $200. Get the Asus for $170 if you can!!!
