This just means that it get's released to everyone at the same time, no other change.

So does anybody have any concrete news on the release date?

play.com in the UK has the game as "in stock" and that it takes 24 hours for despatch. Is that timed so that people who bought it from here will receive it on Thursday the 19th.

It would be nice if EA would actually make some announcement about release instead of us having to speculate.

Anyway, I ordered it in the local shop and have to wait 'til the 19th..

Ok according to amazon it drops tomorrow... BUT according to the counter it drops at noon wednesday (10/18/06) CST.

I'm going to check tomorrow and wednesday at walmart i guess. I preordered at Gamestop but if walmart has it then i know they will. hell i dont even think EA knows when its dropping.

** EDIT**

Just checked Wal-Mart.com and it says tomorrow too.. man im lost as a fat kid in ethernopia.

#1 bf2142 wont run if the ea downloader is not installed  
#2 Upon starting the game windows popped up a message saying its blocking bf2142Pace.exe   Any one know what the file is about??

My downloader still says 20 days till preload....what is that about?  I want to play already.
