While war sucks the big one that is one of the major payoffs. Look at what happened with WWII(I am NOT condoning war, I do not like it, last resort always).weamo8 wrote:

Mmhm. Supporting and questioning are both patriotic. However, deliberately undermining the safety of your country and leaking vital intelligence is not. Though apparently some believe such things.Bertster7 wrote:

Patriotism good
Nationalism bad
Nationalism bad
I'm using my own words here, but patriotism is not inherently bad, because it only increases the love and respect you have for your country. But, it can also be bad, because nationalism is what sucks, and the 2 are often mixed up.
Patriotism by itself = good, but a common side effect of patriotism is nationalism, and that's bad.

I seem to be quoting more and more songs here lately, but here goes,
Fuck zionism.
Fuck militarism.
Fuck americanism.
Fuck nationalism.
Fuck religion.

Patriotism is good. Nationalsim is bad.
This is because patriotism is pride in your country while nationalsim is the believe that your country should do more to beat other countries.

Commiting acts of treason, unpatriotic, who'd have thought it.
It totally depends on context. If your government is acting in the best interests of the country, by all means supporting them is patriotic. Supporting a corrupt government is however, unpatriotic at best.
Questioning a governments actions is always a good thing to do. Unquestioning faith in anything is a bad idea. IT is this questioning that is what I was refering to.
I agree, patriotism is fine, if it doesn't turn to extreme, however nationalism is bad and so is the arrogance it creates
NO !! why who'd it be??
