Stats are not for me anyway, who cares really? Badges/ribbons and medals are all imaginary keepsakes for people who have goals set in an unrealistic world. It's competition with oneself. People play different so can't really judge them in any aspect of the game, they might be playing for something different or gaining the next goal for themselves. I like to play for fun and the awesome unlocks. Though I find myself flying (when I can get a plane) a little more because of my CFS days. The other day I saw how to get 214 points IAR, it can be done, anything can be accomplished but it didn't feel right to me, I cheated myself, playing on a 16 man 64 map server and being commander, I usually play on full map of 64 and people don't hit 100 often. People Tking for planes so they can get the high scores, people spawnkilling (which to me is no big deal if you have another area to spawn). I was also playing WAke and was raping the Essex, the first time I've done this, I didn't feel bad because they had 2 flags to respawn, but felt uneasy, because no one has the rulebook on how to play. Another time in Mash, everyone quit playing and didn't respawn because of the Blackhawk. The game has set standards on how we play. Why would you change accounts? How do you feel on your playing, what do you play for? I play for the fun.
define 'fun'. whats fun to you might not be fun to anyone else.
personally, i play for medals, badges, ribbons, and ranks. otherwise the game is just too repetitive. the only game i've found that i play for absolutely no rational reason at all is counter-strike. it's the exact same every time...but i just can't stop. in this game, i always have something else i'm working toward. right now my next two goals are the good conduct medal (about 12 hours away) and the war college ribbon (much farther away...but ive been working on it for about a month now).

I play for fun. However, badges, points, and rankings give me a feeling of accomplishment.
I play rank to get the unlocks. Once I have them all, I'll play non-ranked
I have one goal.
I am going to beat BLaZiN.Uk for first place. I even created a new account just for it. It's named " BLaZiN.NaziGermany ". You see that name, thats me.

Even if you beat him, don't you lose in a way? Hours that could have been spent elsewhere?
Ha! "BLaZiN.NaziGermany"! That makes my day. I wish you luck, though if you do the math, BLaZiN.uk plays about 6.5 hours a day, every day. Considering that you're starting later than he is and you have ~260,000 points to make up...well, hope you're good at playing BF2 in your sleep.
As for my BF2 play...I guess lately I've been working on getting veteran medals. I used to play nothing but medic (you can probably see that for yourself in my stats) but recently I've branched out a bit just for the sake of getting Veteran-Something-Other-Than-Medic.

well killing blazin.uk more then he kills me ...sattifies my day enough
I play for all sorts of reasons.
Teamplay, points, unlocks, accuracy, badges/ribbons/medals and a whole lot of fun

i play only for the teamplay and to get the unlocks... the unlocks are actually the only reasion i'm even playing on ranked servers.
and i mostly play when i can team up with my clan to play a bit...

I actually think that the ranks and awards can have a negative effect on peoples enjoyment - sometimes I start playing to get a certain award/rank and play really badly - on CS:S you can shrug it off and come back another day, but on BF2 there is a bizzare need to keep your K/D ratio going up!!!
Teamplay.
I hardly ever play alone, but with several friends on comms. We don't have a set way we play every map...we adapt as the battles evolve. It's fun to change tactics mid-stream and go from a defensive position to an attacking push on spawns, or from running from flag to flag to capping and holding the enemy airfield to deny them air assets.
Sometimes we'll dedicate a map to keeping enemy assets down...sometimes we'll spawn all as snipers and set up a crescent of death.
The badges and medals are fine...just a peripheral accomplishment. The stats are kind of cool, because it's neat to see how long I've spent in the game running around tossing ammo packs, or holed up on a roof with a sniper rifle...and they're useful for identifying areas of the game to improve in.
As long as I'm enjoying good teamplay, I'm happy...my K/D ratio, W/L ratio, and SPM are all > 1:1, so that's good enough for me

I feel great. Knowing that I have one of the highest accuracies in the game, one of the highest teamwork to combat ratios for a sniper, as well as a highly ranked leaderboard in Transport, Sniper Rifle, Pistol, Ground Defense, and Sniper in general.
Also proud of all the other accuracies in my other weapons (Shotgun with 25% = godly).
