I was on Warlord last night playing Insurgent commander.I was up and running back and forth between the plaza and tv station taking shots at bad guys and i put a couple claymores out near the plaza flag.I then ran to the tv station to hide out for a minute and do the commander/scan/uav/supply routine when a bad guy tripped one of my claymores.All the sudden while in the command screen i heard a chuckle.I had 5 kills on foot as a commander when it happened.I read about it here somewhere but thought someone was just messing with people.But it's true.
I haven't tried it again but I'm sure that once anyone gets 5 kills as commander while in the command menu(or out,I'm not sure) there is indeed some kind of laughter from that player.

Sitting on the rooftop MG at the market flag on a Jalalabad server.
Shooting people at great distances as they left junkyard but only got one kill for the time I was there.
Then that laugh came over! It really is quite sinister. It wasn't on TS or VOIP and it was just to polished and creepy to be either one of those.
I can't figure out what triggered it because I had done nothing special... unless maybe someone spotted me from a distanc.e.. someone who has used the veterans program and is now playing 2142 beta-demo?

I've heard it once as commander on R2J. (Was alone in the USMC uncap)

I think it's when you get alot of points without dieing.. Ive like naded 2 or 3 guys then revived some teamates and i hear it.. So if you get alot of points in one go and you might hear it because it's taunting because you got alot of points, Ive heard it heaps of times it's just annoying now :s
on EA, it says u can use the "taunt" when u spot a dead enemy.... :S
and, it also says that it sometimes doesnt work, because of "server spam settings" or something like that

I hear weird noises on kubra dam alot.(like road repairing noises)
I think you get it either from a large killstreak, or being a commander with a large arty kill streak.... Ive had it happen, always when I was commander, owning it up.
theres this one building on mashtuur that if you stand by this door that cant be opened it sounds like someone is banging on the door trying to get out....found that out screwing around in an empty server with my clan waiting for the server to start

I have yet to hear this laugh outside of opening the files and listening to it.
Heard it quite often on my favorite map Warlord. Can't remember every situation, but am sure about a lot of laughs while being SAS commander hiding at the uncap (no "active" kills).
I'm no member of the veteran program and I don't have the beta / demo! So I think we got it via 1.4 - perhaps as a teaser to buy 2142.

I've heard them a lot of times too, just didn't realize what it was. Of course the first time was indeed creepy.

I heard it last night. Was playing sniper on Jalalabad. Not sure I spoted a dead guy but it was possible...was trying to spot enemy rushing the hotel for my team. CREEPY!

It for the rare occasions when a commander is "demoted" by his team and it's probably only heard by the commander. I've never actually seen any commander get voted down, however.
