OK,
I just upgraded my connection speed from 640/256kbps to 3.0/1.5mbps. I was trying to drop my ping. I can find some servers that I run a ping of about 75 but less then a handful of those. When I got my "NEW" connection speed it made NO difference what so ever. What I was trying to accomplish is, I see some people running a ping of about 20 or less.
I did a search here on UBAR, what I am coming to understand is the connection speed really has nothing to do with ping. So if you do not have a server right in your home town or very close your screwed! More or less, all of the lowest ping servers that I have been able to find have 14 or more hops.
We have three computers hooked up to networking. They all have different memory, ram and setups. They all run the same ping.
Is there a way to determine if there are any servers in your area?
