I had a 2001 S10 Xtreme that went to about 90, then the governor plate slowed the truck down. I was also doing about 80 in the truck, when I hydroplaned and hit a semi truck twice.

87 (last week) in my 1988 Volvo 480 ES.
Fastest I've been driven: 140mph in a police Volvo T5 on M20. Situation: was doing Duke of Edinburgh's bronze award and the "service" I had chosen was to follow Kent Police. Our one day out was in this Volvo - one of the cars the police use for motorway pursuits. Anyway, the driver asked the three of us if we wanted to see what the car could do and, of course, nobody said no. He stuck on the blue lights - said there was no point having the two-tones on at high speed - and put his foot down. I was in the front passenger seat and could see the speedo after it passed 110. Wow.
Edit: PS. I haven't really tried pushing my 480. Might have a go at the weekend but I'm old and wise enough to ask "what's the point?"

Covered a 200km distance in 1 hour & 10 minutes. That is getting into the car at the fuel bowser to getting out of the car at the post office, all without breaking any speed limits.

There is only one problem F16's have 1 seat. You might mean a Bomber Version of the F15 or the F14. The F14 is now retired from the US airforce. So is everyone here basically saying they've never been in a Jetliner which travels about Mach 0.82ish or around 500+ Knots groundspeed.MonroStrongrod wrote:

140mph on a single lane road at 4.30am at the start of a drive the full length of Ireland. Ballycastle-Skibereen (8-9 hour drive. I can do it in 6) in my Ex companies BMW. My average speed until 7-7.30am traffic started was about 100mph.
169 Km/h Hyundai Tiburon. 120 Km/h is speed limit, driving 50 Km/h faster than the speed limit costs you your driving license here in the Netherlands.

I own 2 cars, a Nissan 300ZX twin turbo(1990) and a Audi A8 4.2 Quattro(1998).
I've had the 300ZX up to 165mph and still slowly rising before i had to turn off to motorway.
The Audi is limited to 155mph as are most cars, but it can sit at 155mph all day if the traffic permitted. I've hit the limiter a few times, it just stops revving.
