Please can someone help me in pointing out a decent monitor for me and my newly built ( well i only need the RAM now) computer. Ill post my specs here to give you an idea of what Im looking for....I want to be on high settings, so a big resolution but I also want it to be HD and a flat screen (perferably black )

Core 2 Duo E6600
Geforce 7600GT
Targus 480W PSU
2GB 800Mhz RAM
DQ6 Intel Mobo

So yeah, any good monitors you know of? I have a budget of about £150, but it can increase if needed....(also, know of any decent speakers out there too?)

Definately a Dell Ultrasharp, like the one in Kmarion's Sig *points*

I just got a Hyundai N19W, it's widescreen, 1440x900 and so far it's the shiz ^_^

I got that for around £160 delivered from overclockers.co.uk.

Next day delivery FTW.

although the size and price are both good, the reliablity is bad, i have a dell 24" and it took me 4 units to get one that worked properly. All i can say is be careful, and get the advanced warrenty

I've had my Dell 2405FPW for over a year and no problems of any kind.  I'd recommend them to anyone...

If you can stretch to £200, this is a fantastic monitor as well. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than the ViewSonic VX922.

Dell monitors are great. I'm aiming for the 24-incher, eventually. Here's some things you want:

High CD/M2 (brightness, candella per sq. meter, "nits")
High Contrast ratio
Low response time
Balanced color bias (can be found on many monitor review sites)

And don't forget to actually look at the monitor turned on, in-person, if you can.

Having a couple USB ports and a media card reader in it is cool also .
