It is four times more likely to die due to asteroid impact than get struck by lightning.

The proverb "finding a needle in a haystack" comes from olden days when farmers still had to fasten their haystacks using a hayneedle (about three feet long)... as you can imagine sometimes you can accidentaly lose it, and have a lot of trouble finding it.  But it is not as difficult as finding a one inch long needle, as most people think the proverb comes from.

Lightning is sparked by "cosmic radiation" from stars, supernovas etc...

Lightning storms actually create the "radiation safe zone" in space around earth, so we can send satellites in orbit.

Lightning CAN strike twice in the same place.

North pointed by a magnetic compass is not the same as the true north

The temperature inside of a lightning bolt is can go up to about five times hotter than the surface of the sun, hence it creates thunder.

Lightningbolts also shoot up from the clouds towards the outer atmosphere, known as the sprites, blue elves,...

I know a lot about lightning....

LOL  really?

On the topic of antiquated law.....

Here in belgium we need to have every motorised vehicle checked for safety, co2 pollution, suspension etc...  This is done by government agencies around the country...

But here's the funny part, according to the law, your vehicle is not considered a vehicle if you don't have suspension, so you can evade the technical checkup every year, insurance, taxes, etc.....

There are men in Guam whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time. Reason: under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry. (Let's just think for a minute; is there any job anywhere else in the world that even comes close to this?)
