OMFG, I've never seen so many threads about the installation error!

If you have an error messege like this after you install 2142 demo:

Solution A:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is how you fix the d3dx9_29.dll installation error:
Download this---->DirectX Updater!
Install it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Solution B:

If that doesn't work, click here and download this file.
After it get done downloading, unzip it and move the file to this location: C:\windows\system32
If you need more than the "29" file, they can be found on that site.

If there are any more issues with the install, notify me with the problem and the solution, and I will post it here.

Well I finally got the demo to work. I'm not impressed with it. I guess I'm just not into all the futuristic wafare. I'll be staying with bf2.

Any ideas on a CTD after about 2 mins of game play? Event Viewer shows a d3dx9.dll causing the crash. (no, not the d3dx9_29.dll. just d3dx9.dll) Thought about downloading the corresponding .dll file from the above linked dll archive site but the version they have is considerably older than the one currently on my system. Ideas?

My guess is the retail version will ship with the updated DX9. I guess I'll find out in 4 hours.

I am still having trouble with this one. . .

The difference that I can think of is that my WindowsXP install is the x86_64 compile of it. I am sure that changes things, and EA says "YOUR UNSUPPORTED" seems unfair if you ask me.
