BF2S Forums The 'Sinister' Laugh...No BS

IMO this has nothing to do with the veterans program or the commander position: i heard it once when I was killed by an opponent at a shootout, the map was RTJ I believe.

The kill was very close, I probably left him with only a few bars of his health, I was medic at the time and the guy came to get my kit to heal himself, and when he was over me I heard him laugh.

The demotion tune reminds me of the tune before FOX-films (The one with 21st century fox and the searchlights)

EDIT: Okay. I tried this in SP and MP.

In both, when doing an "enemy spotted" on a corpse, I heard no "enemy forces spotted" voice. But pointing anywhere else on the ground produced one with the flashing question mark.

So, to my conclusion..I either can't hear myself doing the laugh (which would mean I would need somebody that I know to confirm or deny this (or one of you duos can try it), or..it's just a random thing that happens. I didn't join/make a squad in either just so you know.

When I heard the laugh myself, I was a squad leader. I do not know if it was him or I laughing.

It might have something to do with BF 1.4 since I've gone through the sound files before 1.4, and never noticed the laughing wav. I did notice the enemy wheelbarrow spotted and the demotion already though.

So, I'm sure you people will think of someway to find out how the laugh works.

No wonder at distance i can't spot multiple enemies in a firefight, i.e if i killed someone and there's more; Q will do nothing.  I just thought it was a new exciting bug/prob.  But I've never heard the laugh in-game; would creep me out late at night hearing it though.

I just heard it on Wake.  I was squad leader and sniping.  I shot (wounded) someone and a second later someone else got the kill and I heard the the laugh.

So maybe it's when you get a kill assist?

Heard it once as SAS commander in Warlord, in the SAS uncap.

Heard it just now while commanding on Sharqi. Pretty sure I've never heard it before but I'll listen out for it now.

Makes me wonder, it says you have to have 2142 installed, but it seems it also works with the beta? It has to, right? Since the real version isn't even out yet, and we DO hear the taunt...

just mess around with the game audio files, in RTJ, if ur by the water bases, u can hear water and crickets in the backround, if ur mid city by hotel and junk yard, u hear the bongos playing, if ur by mosque, u can hear ppl talking in arabic
