just get a membership to a decent gym.  if you don't have the resolve and dedication to be lifting and doing cardio already, a $2000 piece of equipment won't help after about 2 months either.

You can achieve similiar results by just running, doing crunches, and doin pushups everyday. My friend's ripped, and all he does is the above.

Or you can get a Bowflex Revolution. The new model does not use the former Power Rod technology, but rather circular plates containing composite springs which can interlock. In addition, two adjustable arms which have a range of 170 degrees of motion each are used rather than earlier models which had a lat tower as well as a squat station.
Who wouldn't want a "zomg uber sick central processing unit?"

Are you new to bodybuilding? If so I would strongly recommend that you sign up to a gym for a couple months first, just to make sure you really have the desire to do strength training before wasting $2000 dollars.

Weight lifting is only 50% of a good program. A proper diet makes up for the rest. What body type are you? Ectomorphic, endomorphic or meso? If your taking in the right fuel(natural foods only) that your body needs then you'll make awesome gains. If not, your exercising will, for most part, be  a complete waste of time.

Ok to the original poster. Don't listen to anyone here who doesn't have one. The comments about a Bowflex being gay is fucked up man. Try actually getting out of the house and stop masterbating to Victoria Secret Catalogues. Also gyms cost money. Yes a Bowflex isn't cheap but I have to agree that having to get dressed, leave the house, drive or walk to a gym, fight for machines and then having to drive or walk back to the house to get cleaned up is more time than it's worth.

When your routine is only 30-45min why spend 30-45 min just getting to and from a gym? If you have the space in your home and if you have the money to get one I don't see why not.

But you are asking on the wrong forums. We are a bunch of gamer geeks who rarely if ever exercise.

I would try on Yahoo questions or look at other forums about Health and Fitness. That's my advice. When you find the answer or if you get one then I would be interested to see how it works for you cuz I'm interested in also getting one myself.

All I know is that there are a lot of retarded people out there that buy expensive workout equiptment after watching some fitness models in a commercial. After spending one week with the new equiptment it usually becomes a coffee table. If you have money to burn then by all means light the match. But if you have been on a workout program before and know you have the motivation to stay with it, then its a great idea.

Though, I would like to add that if you have a small room not being used then you would do better to get a few choice workout machines. All you really need is a dumbell set, a lat machine, multi-position bench, calf machine, and some free weights/bars. All of this would be cheaper than a bowflex.

BTW this is only my opinion!!

Get yourself use to lifting at first. If you've never been in shape before, you can easily exhaust yourself and you do not want to be discouraged. Take it easy at first and progress when you feel comfortable. Work on your upper body one day, and lower the next. If you're looking to getting 'ripped', do intensive cardiovascular work outs after lifting. This optimizes the burning of fat, thus, a toner look. I'd be worried about getting muscle mass though, because you don't want to task yourself like that just yet.

I wouldn’t eat to your heart’s content, if you’re looking for building muscle mass quickly. Yes, an increased intake of protein and complex carbohydrates will help, but don’t over do it. Eat lean meats, and if you need additional protein, then drink some protein shakes. Just remember you’re body will only utilize so much, and too much can be stored as fat (sometimes). Plus, your liver processes that excess protein, so don’t be hard on it.

And like others who have suggested, try a gym. If you can get a trainer, then you've got someone who can help you set and reach new goals. Yes, I know friends of mine where their parents see the bow flex add, order it, try it out, and then it collects dust in a garage. Going to the gym may be a little intimidating, but you'll see plenty of people there trying the gym out in worse shape than you. You've got to start somewhere.

Remember, you're not going to get really big soon. This stuff doesn't happen over Friday night. Working out is all about building a strong foundation. Once you’ve got that, you can take on new tasks to reach new goals. Good luck!
