I'd say it's your ram(=2 gigs optimal). Let someone else confirm this:p

Get more RAM. My computer is crap compared to most of the stuff you have and I get can easily play large maps...

I have 3Gb of RAM.

EDIT: What is your internet connection?

first of all, its just an amd marketing technique that its 3.5ghz vs a pentium...my 3.4p4 is rated against a amd 4000+...

the source of thelag is the ram(most likely)...the only way it could be the hdd is if its not sata or 7200rpm.....

scince you run ddr400 ram, its a fairly cheap fix...i think you can get a gig for $70....check what speed/voltage/etc. your ram is and get the same. different brands often work together, but sometime do not, so its probably safest to go with the same brand, etc.

edit: the reason rootbeer gets no lag is his card...because he runs at not-high settings.....i assume with a 7800 that you do. the graphics quality of the game has a lot to do with it..

Its only usefull if you live in America. I'm on a 17 Mb down and 256 Kb up. Though, the speed tests only says im a 2mb down and 200 kb up. I'm only able to get this speeds on my isp servers. Not that this is a problem seeing i only play on there severs

Could not be RAM, but could be that your computer is too hot inside. Does it happen right away or only when you have been playing for awhile? BF2 tends to heat up your system alot after awhile. Try opening up your case to allow for more ventilation, see if it helps. I used to have 1 gig RAM and that was happening to me too. I got another gig and it didn't help, only better ventilation helped.
