Tony Stark, nor Iron Man for that matter, do drugs. I see an actor really getting into the role of character problem here.
For the record, I'm scared that Downey and the movie industry will fuck up on the comic-to-movie of Ironman. I just see Daredevil all over again.
Being an avid fan of Ironman, I have to laugh at the irony of picking R.Downey Jr. to play the role of a man who is successful but has inner demons and dependancies.

Well it's still really early I'm assuming in the process someone will probably get rid of Downey before shooting.. I thought Iron Man(at least the new one) was black?

Robert Downey Jr. has had some accomplishments in his drug smeared career. My favorite role of his was in "Natural Born Killers" as Wayne Gale the obnoxious host of a TV show that spoofed "A Current Affair".

On topic, yeah Tony Stark is a white guy who uses a suit that gives him gadgets and abilities galore. At one point in time his is handicapped by a bullet that leaves him in a wheelchair. The suit allows him full use of his body again, but only when it is worn.
I wonder if they'll pursue a storyline that involves the loss of the use of his lower body.
