yep the answer is 3/5

1) multiply the whole damn equation by 10 to get this

2(4x-2)- (3x-1)=0--------- basically i c4 the denominator...lol

2) distributive property ( give ammo to every noob...lol)

2(4x-2)= 8x-4
-(3x-1)= -3x+1

3) simplify and snipe

8x-4-3x+1=0    goes into    5x=3

4) multiply 1/5  on each side ( like spawnkilling in the alley of karkland)  of 5x=3 to get x=3/5

congratualtions, you have received a expert math badge.

Hehe.... i needed to know the testing of the equation. I have one more, witch i dont remember how to find the common nominator( ?) for. Dont know if that is the right word. What do i multiply with here??

https://img1.putfile.com/thumb/9/26613293923.jpg

Last one. Wont bother you guys after this one.

At first, i thought the answer was to multiply each side with x-2..... but after i did the testing on both sides, it was wrong. I think....

<=> ((4x-2)/5) = ((3x-1)/10)

<=>x=3/5

TEST

((4(3/5)-2)/5)-((3(3/5)-1)/10) =0

<=> ((12/5 - 2)/5)-(9/5-1)/10) =0

<=> ((2/5)/5)-(4/5)/10) =0

Edit. added TEST
wow just did this unit in pre calc. this dude it right. i got the same thing.

(x+3)/(x-2) = (x+1)/(x)

Times both sides by (x-2)(X)
The (x-2) cancels on the left and the (X) cancels on the right to give.

=>(x+3)(x) = (x+1)(x-2)

=>X^2 + 3x = X^2 -2 -X

=>4X=-2

=>X=-0.5

TEST

(-0.5+3)/(-0.5-2) = (-0.5+1)/(-0.5)

=>(2.5)/(-2.5) = (0.5)/(-0.5)

=>  -1 = -1

Code:

x^2 + 3x = (x-2)(x+1)
x^2 + 3x = x^2 - 1x - 2
  4x + 2 = 0
      4x = -2
       x = -0.5

i think
Ah, so you multiply each side with the other side. That looks right... ill try it out now and see if i get the same.
Damn, thought i would get flamed like hell for these equations that you guys find easy
Trust me!!! Your help are really apreciated and NEEDED!!

to find the common denominator, you have to multiply each one by the other.

so you have:

Code:

 x(x+3)/x(x-2)=(X+2)(X+1)/x(x=2)

x(x-2) is the common denominator.

x(x+3) / x(x-2) = (x+1)(x-2) / x(x-2)

(x2 + 3x) = (x2 - x - 2) (I left out afew calc steps.. I hope you can follow)

4x = -2
x = -0.5

When i get to that step: =>X^2 + 3x = X^2 -2 -X.... i get on the right side: =x^2-2+x

you do this:
(x+1)(x-2)
x*x = x^2 (as you prolly now)
x*1 = x
x*-2 = -2x
-2 * 1 = -2

x^2 + x - 2x - 2
        combine
x^2 -x -2

I just started a night course on the high school i went to some years ago. Took only first degree math. I'm taking second degree right now. Right now we are refreshing some of the first degree math. Damn there are so many things i don't remember. I am doing...... decent. Maybe not.
But this one i could not solve. So, can anyone solve this and tell/show me why the answer is what it is?

http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/9/26607465855.jpg

At first i thought that X was 1. When i put it to the test( left side compared to right side), and it was not correct.
Looked through what i had done and thought I had made one mistake and that X was 3/5...
Anyone can explain this one to me and show me how it is solved?

Thanks
The answer is 42 or possibly G36 although I am leaning towards L96
