Ping does matter it makes it smoother helps alot when ur in chopper using TV missile ive had a ping of 10 in the old [3GUNS] clan wake server the one that MailMan[3GUNS] is in..
I've had pings of 1 and 0 when my brother and I are playing a local game (one of us hosts a dedicated server that we both join). Across the internet, my best has been 6.

ping does affect your skills it like a person that is drunk your reaction time is way slower cause it can take 5-20 times longer for your guy to react to another guy with a low ping.

hey i tryed making a local server with my mate but when he tryed to join using the ip it wouldn't work. We both had the same versions and everything, whts up with that?

just for giggles I joined a new zealand server the other day (which is about as physically the other side of the globe to me as I can get). Pinging 400 I was never going to get highscores but I was surprised how many kills I did get- finished about half way up the scoreboard.
