...yes they go in water...the only problem is that they usually stay there too...permanently

Hohahahahah...

I had to

It happened for real here in Finland  . It was some practise about crossing water (in the army..) and sealings of the BTR did not hold. So the BTR sunk and all men inside died. ---> no more water crossing with BTR here...

One commander doesn't ruin the name for all of us I love being commander and I always seem to have compliments during that round or in the next. Just don't play on a team where that guy is commander.
I agree do either that or mutiny the commander and do a better job yourself. BTW SysTray Athena is the goddess of wisdom in greek mythology, Ares is the god of war

rambo commanders?  you mean people that shouldnt be commanders?  theres more than enough stuff to keep you busy if you do it right and actually have some squads to work with.  rambo commanding leaves something not getting done.  usually it seems to be the orders that never get given, and the UAV that gets tossed up at random intervals always where a 'rambo commander' is invading, even if most of his team is sieging another base, the selfish commander has to feel 'uber' and knowing where everyone is is the only way.

I think he mean the crate was too far underwater to get ammo from...

yes.. about the pointing out harmles enemy snipers at the other end of the map.... i was playing mass destruction ,and we had destroyed all of the enemy commander assets, and taken all of the flags, and their enemy commander was the only one left, and he was a sniper, positioned in the boat in the lower left area of the map. i couldnt kill him with my artys due to the fact that he was half IN the boat, and only about a 1ft by 1.5ft area or his body was exposed. after i had pointed him out multiple times, and uav'd him over 10 times....and all of my allies were just sitting there, outside the boat, not even trying to get in tthe boat.... (ez) i couldnt arty anymore for fear of about 15 tks ( that's how close they were, no bull) i was half way there after about 5 minutes of waiting at the spetz main base, and the commander, after picking off a few fof my soldiers, actully decided to kill himself. sad.

i like being commander, i usually at the front line fighting or defending a base at the same time, but i really hate people who tk commanders and come up with a long barrage of names form f*** to noob, and other commanders who always say "roger that" whenever someone asks for something, but never do anything bout it! that really pisses me off, and when someone else comes along and mutiny's against u even tho your doing a god job!!! (the team killing bit really does get on my nerves, anyone else?)

I love commanding.  Got 73% towards my War College.  I try to be Engineer while commanding so I can repair my own assets and not really have to rely on some one doing it for me.  This also frees up the supplies.  Why supply the bad guys with C4 to blow your stuff up again.  If I do need to drop a crate on something I try to destroy it after the repair.  Otherwise I always drop the crates to the armor.  They always need it the most.

I was playing Leviathan today and hopped in a BTR-90 with my engineer kit as I like to do frequently.  I proceeded to go on a killing spree taking CPs left and right.  Everytime someone thought they were gonna get me I'd put up smoke, disappear, and go repair.  Finally I ran out of ammo.  I tried looking around for ammo crates but couldn't find any except for one in the water which was just barely too deep for me to get ammo from.  So then I used to commorose to ask for ammo.  Didn't see any support guys around and didn't get a crate drop.  So then I created my own squad and used the squadrose to request a supply drop and put an icon on the commander's map.  All the arty, UAV, satellite was up.  I put up another supply drop icon a few minutes later.  I kept pestering this asshat for a good 5 minutes and he would never even acknowledge me.  So now I've wasted a good 10 minutes driving around trying to get more ammo.  I almost got to a crate the enemy dropped but it got destroyed.  Finally I ran into a support soldier who hooked me up.  This is the first I have ever even gotten close to beating my kill streak of 37 (I had around 32) and this was in armor.  My previous kill streak of 37 was as commander when those counted towards your streak.  All the time I wasted waiting for ammo fucked me.  Thanks commander asshat.
Try being in a squad from the beginning, and asking for supplies before you run out. That's not saying your commander was an asshat in this case.

Well, as said above, 'one' does not mean 'every'... But I agree with you, there's lot of people who only play commander to get the badge or ribbons, so they actually are commander but play normal (to rake in kills as well). Or they play commander trying to be commander but are total morons.

On the other side, playing commander ain't as easy as it seems. 90% of the times squads just don't give a fuck about orders, people doesn't watch the fucking map so dropping UAV or spotting out enemies is useless (I had to get to the point of shouting, all caps 'HEY PLAYERNAME, BEHIND YOU MAN!!!!'... of course it didn't help either).
Then there's like 200 different people asking for supplies at different locations, and 198 of those people are 1-man-squads. And people running straight toward the red artillery icon. Those are just hilarious.
The worst happens when some of the assets get damaged/destroyed: first, nobody ever repairs them, even if kindly asked to via orders and chat. Secondly, they'll keep asking for that asset's service, ie if the artillery is destroyed, the commander will receive like 10 artillery strike requests... At that point, commander explains that artillery is broken and can't fire until someone repairs it. Next, some of those cocksuckers just calls a mutiny vote, which fails miserably as ever.

I don't want to defend those cheap-ass commanders out there, but sometimes I have to say it's quite frustrating to play commander.
ill agree with you on that. i hate the people that start a mutiny for rediculous reasons. like if i can't insta-drop them something: mutiny..... if i TK them with arty: insta-mutiny.... on that note, i have never dropped arty where friendlies where, people just dont look at the giant red arty strike sign on their maps.....

however, i will have to agree that there are some commanders who dont do anything, and they always seem to be on servers where the mutiny option is disabled.... they are too busy fighting to get you anything, so fuck off to me! (thats what i imagine they are saying).

as long as a commander spots enemies, drops arty on the right spots, and fulfills requests for items if available, while staying out of the battle yourself.... well, thats about all the commander can and should do, and id be happy if they all did just that, win or lose.
