OK, the only thing holding me up right now is the RAM. I've heard that Corsair, Patriot, G.Skill, and OCZ RAM all have issues with ASUS boards. Can anybody shed some more light on that? I'm on some other forums right now looking for answers, but if anybody has read about or has personal experience with a Crosshair MOBO and the RAM, please let me know.
other than the difference in lots of gfx mem, one has 2 gpus and the other only 1. i.e. the first one is sli on 2 pcb's on 1 card and the other one is basically a 7900gtNagarond.Damminson wrote:

other than about 200$ and brand name. The second one actually has core/mem clocks of 565/1430 vs 500/1200 of the one you listed, and bot hhave gddr3 memory.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
The first one is a 7950gx2 which actually has 2 Gpus linked together in a pseduo sli configuration. It is the nvidia flagship videocardNagarond.Damminson wrote:

the second is a 7950 GT which is a single GPU device, to get the same performance as the gx2 version you would need 2 of these cards in an SLI config.
Wow, someones wallet is gonna hurt after this extravaganza of a spending fest.
yes, quite a spend indeed!! It's also an opportunity for me to repair a bit of my credit since I was approved for a credit card (my only credit card). All of this for under $3k, should be sexy
heres a suggestion for ya dont put it on the credit card
I was tempted to put my rig, which only cost about $1600 on a credit card, but I held off and it was the best decision I've made in months.
Like I said, it's for credit purposes mainly. I already have money saved and will not be paying the minimum monthly. I just need a few positive marks on my credit report. I know I can get this paid off next month if I wanted to, but I need the positive credit marks.
