I love the patcher that EA uses.  I really do.  It crashes and doesn't even tell me what the problem is.

So here's the dealio, I'm trying to patch a fresh install of bf2 with 1.4.  It installs everything up to objects_client.zip, then crashes to the desktop.  Yes I've tried reinstalling and trying again.

Suggestions compadres?

How about - long shot - (only if downloading don't work) installing Patch 1.3 the patching to 1.4...

That way you can see if its the patch or not...  it made sense to me...

yup.. tried that.  It isn't the installer.

I don't think it will let me install 1.3 since it already tried installing 1.4...  we'll see
