ive had issues with parents. is it just this game, or video games in general?

if its the latter, say this:

"okay, so, you have two options that could change my life and yours. option A: you let me play my computer game, a reasonable amount, not binge-playing, whenever and however i like. and your cool with it. option B: i go out on the streets every night and smoke lines off of hookers asses. your choice."

the actual version i used wasnt quite so blunt, but in the ballpark. i have limits, but i can play. (colonel :0)

I don't have kids yet myself but my wife and I are going to start trying next year. Every father wants whats best for their son, tell him that you play the game because it teaches teamwork and gives you a sense of accomplishment, then show him your awards you have won and explain it to him. Make sure he gets the point that it's not about killing American's or anyone for that matter, it's for enjoyment, a sense of accomplishment and FUN. Personally I think he should lighten up, this game is nearly as bad as what you could be playing, it's not really gorey, no sex, and no drugs.

Me and my dad play Battlefield 2 sometimes when he gets the time. Best thing to do it get your dad to play the game himself, tell him to join the USMC, be the medic and for every US marine that dies get him to revive them. Then shoot the daylights out of the enemy.

If it goes to plan, he'll phail at it then just tell him. It's blood hard eh? Try shooting down those assholes while trying to save your mate. Soom he'll relise that the game is probably more pro-American.

Just for the record is your dad like pro-America or something? Because I he is I'd laugh my head off.

P.S. My advice: use the parental control feature to block the following channels at your house: Fox News, CMT, OLN, The Military Chanel and WGN (but only because WGN sucks ass). The first three channels are a bad influence on your father, and after he starts going into withdrawal over a lack of the Military Chanel, he'll beg you to play BF2 just to get his fix. You'd be like the Methadone Clinic of armchair warfare!!!

After not playing for a coupla weeks, buy a few copies of the Qur'an, a coupla prayer rugs, and a few books on Arabic/Farsi, and tell him that you have to get your MEC fix one way or another...then start asking him all kinds of questions on explosives...

I think thats best advice so far. The game is based on current weapons and technology... it only makes sense that they would have semi-real armies use the weapons. The fact that you have to have two team for the game to work and sometimes you get put on the US team, then it switches sides to make game play even for everybody. It does not matter witch side you play on. And while the basis of the game is real weapons, it is still a game and a fictitious story line. The Middle Eastern Coalition is a fictitious army.
