I don't like a lot of rap, but every-so-often I will hear a song that I truly like. Ridden is one of them. So you can imagine how elated I was to see Weird Al parodied it.Jbrar wrote:

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
There is a difference between Rap and Hip-Hop.
Rap is sometimes good... Beastie Boys & Run DMC
Hip-Hop on the other hand...Fergie, and many artists like her, make me want to throw up.

Doesn't hold a candle to the Diplomats (juelz santana, cam'ron), busta, terror squad (fat joe, big pun), kanye west.... artists with many platinum hits under their belts.
Chamillionaire is just riding on the bandwagon that is "ATL cruise" gangsta rap.
LoL I just watched the real video and it says something about a playstation controller and the chick is playing an xbox. Just strenghtens my point of rap = retards attempting poetry.

Listen to aesop rock, zion i, atmosphere, sage francis, people like that. dig deep to the underground and you will find good hip hop.
I agree with the critisism of rap though, the majority of it on the radio is just the same, I havent heard a decent mainstream rap album since Marshall Mathers by Eminem, 5 years ago.
Give the artists I've listed a listen, it might change your views.
