Just installed 1.4 Patch,  All seemed OK,  but when i joined the server list,  they are all in red(wrong Version).

So how do i know what version i have installed,  in top right corner it says, 1.1.2940.772.0

Can still connect with 1.3 patched servers,  so all is not lost

The incremental is fine with 1.4, it is what I installed.

Just try reinstalling BF2 in this order:

Uninstall
Reinstall BF2
Reinstall BF2:SF
Patch to 1.4
Install EF
Patch to 1.4
Install AF
Patch to 1.4

This method is 100% guaranteed to work, it is the method I use. You can also do this:

Uninstall
Reinstall BF2
Reinstall BF2:SF
Patch to 1.4
Install AF
Install EF
Patch to 1.4

Although I haven't used this method, it should turn out the same.

Ok will try it again,  i installed the full patch,  and the addons wouldnt work,  i`ll give it a go,  is the default directory, c:\Programs/EAGames/BF2  ?

Uninstalled, Installed,  ran the Patch,  EF & AF  kept throwing up a critical error when trying to install,  and still not patched


Any ideas  lol


Might try and download FULL patch again

I have this same exact problem, all servers show up RED and it says you don't have the map in this rotation!?!?

Does anyone have a fix for this?

I have dumped and reinstalled both Vanilla and SF, relaid the patchs no go...

Anyone have any ideas?

My friend is having the same problem, he can't join any servers. It just says wrong version and he has patched it hundred times already. Has anybody found a solution?

EDIT: Reinstalling didn't work either

Personally I had to reinstall BF2 from scratch when I had the same problem.
Use full patches, they are less trouble in the long run.

click on: "community" then "costum games" in BF2 menu to see which version and mods You have installed. Maybe You need to switch off a restrictive firewall or something?
My default directory is: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
(Everything works and no CrashToDesktop yet)
