I was trudging through the information super traffic-jam when I fell upon this video. This guy is a little on the extremely angry side for my taste, however, he does bring up a good point:

Where is our memorial?

In 2003, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation held a design competition for a memorial that would be build on the WTC site. In 2004, a design call Reflecting Absence, by Michael Arad, was chosen. It has now been 5 years since the disaster and at least 2 since we designed a memorial. So where is it?

The video

Now, I do consider myself on the more liberal side of moderate, but even I'll admit Olbermann goes on a bit of a rant towards the end. With that, lets keep it civil folks.

Good question. Is it the cities job or the Fed Gov. Either way they should have started it by now.

the job was modeled on 2004, now is on final structural design (its easy to make a building with plastic, but not so easy when u want it to become the worlds tallest one). Ground zero is on the final stages of preparation to start building the foundations of this huge protect. Just be patient, it will be there, but it will take time.
