wow this fucking sucks... i installed 1.4 and what do i get, black screen then crash to desktop. i kno what your thinking, i should uninstall the game then reinstall it and the patch will work but i a 1 problem. i fucking lost my regular bf2 and have been using special forces o play. no i cant uninstall because i cant reinstall with no game. does any1 have any sugesstions on what i should do? please! i already tried a system restore and that didnt help and i did not make a copy of my bf2 file.

hm...try installing the 1.4 full over it.

just one thought. i had a prob like that a few patches ago. after reinstalling everything about 3 times. i found out my firewall was blocking bf2. for some reaon since the ver # changed it blocked it. after i unblocked it then it worked fine. not sure if that might be your prob but just a thought.

Try deleting your Battlefield 2 folder from your my documents, or rename it so you can get your controls and other settings back if it doesn't help

Download the disc images. Hopefully you still have your CD key... Basically, you're getting new CD's without contacting EA. I think this is legal, but if it's not, delete this post
