Hi All.
I am administering a tournament and I need some help. This is to "commmemorate" the launch of BF2142.
What I am thinking of is getting a tournament together with BF2.
Here is what I am thinking so far.
2 squads.
16 Player maps.
-Not sure what maps I want yet, but I was thinking Kubra, Karkand, mashtuur, Jalalabad, and fu she.
I have not decided yet if I want to make them Infantry Only or not.
What I was thinking was making it an individual and team based scoring system.
The players in the tournament would either create a new online account (Im not sure how accurate the scores are kept on a lan game, and no one at the shop wants to waste time trying out a non ranked game)
I guess my first question is going to be, has anyone done this and is there something that will keep track of the global points on a local server for us?
The scoring for the tournament would be something like this:
The global score would be the main indicator of score.
The team score would be secondary I think.
Something like
G T K D
Player 1: 90 25 20 25
Player 2: 87 32 16 24
Player 3: 75 30 25 23
Player 4: 73 28 12 36
Player 5: 60 25
Player 6: 50 20
Player 7: 49 19
Player 8: 48 18
Player 9: 42 15
Player 10: 36 11
Player 11: 33 10
Player 12: 30 9
So at the end of each of the maps the score would be recorded
Player 1: 290
Player 2: 287
Player 3: 175
Player 4: 273
Player 5: 160
Player 6: 150
Player 7: 149
Player 8: 248
Player 9: 142
Player 10: 136
Player 11: 233
Player 12: 130
At the end of all 5 maps, the person who had the most points would be the winner.
The top scoring person would be first prize (290)
Second top scorer would be second prize (287)
Third place person would be third prize (273)
The "most winningest" squad through the 5 maps would be the winner of the Squad (team) prize.
The prizes are 1st Place: a copy of BF2142
2nd Place: a T-shirt and 10 free hours (This is for an internet cafe, so we can offer free hours)
3rd Place: 15 free hours.
The Squad Prize: T-shirts might be a cool Idea, but I would have to check with the owner of the store.
What do you guys think?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
