im sure everyone that tried playing at some period of time between friday and saturday realized they couldnt log on, and i couldnt as well. but now i can log on without a problem as can everyone else as usual. the only problem now is that ill only be on the server for about 10 seconds to half a minute and then ill "lose connection". is there a patch that came out yesterday that i missed or something? this is rather irritating not being able to play on any servers for no apparent reason. help? :(

well, as far as I know, 1.12 is still the current version. haven't played over the weekend, though...

I am not a tech expert. Firewall issue ?

I have the same problem...and no it's not firewall/port related.

Though I usually lost connection to servers after 30 minutes only....and it happens on servers as well where I have ping around 20. That's why I think it's a program related problem.

Same problem here.

Some days I can be online for hours with no issues, then occassionally BANG!  Every 30 seconds I get dropped.

I suspected that it might be due to a duplicate CD key from some tosser with a bootleg copy of BF2 but it happens in SF as well.

It's happening a lot, especially today and I've double checked router and firewall connections, no problems there. I think it's just a case of 'time will heal', after all, didn't we go through the same issues after 1.03

Ps. It doesn't matter what ping you have, I've had as little as 13 and lost connection and as much as 300 and played a full round.

k apparently the the game likes to cooperate once again.   i have a basic linksys 4 port router/hub and what i did was change around a couple port mappings (unrelated to the game nonetheless) this disconnects the computer or router briefly from internet access. im not sure what else there is to it but it involved a router in my situation. hope this helps out anyone else

If you have an X2 processor, it's worth trying this solution:

I had this problem and there's one thing that you and I have in common - an X2 processor.

Here's what fixed it for me. I tested it a few times and the fix was the only thing different and the problem has never reappeared.

Get hold of an executable called Prioaff from here: http://www.valhallalegends.com/adron/prioaff/prioaff.zip

bung the unpacked .exe somewhere (mine's in C:\WINDOWS) and change your BF2 shortcut to say this:

C:\WINDOWS\prioaff.exe 3 10 "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

or wherever you keep your executables.

Now I am in BF2 Heaven...
It was the single and only thing which fixed it for me, after trying everything else suggested on any forum you care to mention. If I go back to running the game with the default settings, back come the disconnects.

Hope it helps.

My main rig, if it's of interest:

MB: Asus A8N-SLi Premium
CPU: AMD X2 4200
RAM: 2Gb Corsair XMS3200
VGA: 2 x XFX 7800GTX
PSU: TAGAN 580W
HD: 2 x 74Gb WD Raptors, RAID-0
SND: Creative Audigy 2
