my ping is higher with new patch too about 10-20 higher

Does anyone have any ideas or am i just fucked for the rest of the time i play bf2?
my ping went from 200 to 900+ last night...(singapore time)
and when i updated the server list the pings were >900 to 1200 onwards..

yeah I've gone down my avarage ping was 50 when I played 1.3 when I did not have stuff downloadin the background and while playing, when I had nothing but bf2 in 1.3 it would be between 30-60 now its around lower than 30's.Jbrar wrote:

Its weird coz servers that used to be high are now lower, but my local servers (WA) used to be really low like 30 - 40 (at most) are now in the 220 range.
I have the same problem on the Crow, Striferight, and few other of my fav's since the new patch. I have had to find other servers to play on. My pings went from 11 or 34 all the way up to 2339944, getting dropped from server!!!!Wojo97civic wrote:

some of my pings have gotten higher too
No they increased Transport chopper armor, so you probably wont take out a BH in one run now.R3v4n wrote:

Sorry to bring up an old post, but i have figured out how to get your ping back to normal!!!!!!
What i did was i uninstalled bf2, downloaded every patch that ea every put out except 1.3... I patched everything using full, and i figured it out, DO NOT PATCH 1.3 with 1.4. You have to download 1.22, and then patch it with 1.4! I swear this worked for me and i hope it works for anyone else who is having problems still

I'm glad someone made this post, because i've been trying to convince my clan mates that the ping situation has changed dramatically since 1.4. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but mine didn't, so now i'm trying to fight people who are pinging under 20 and i'm still at about my old ping, anywhere from 60 to 100 depending on the server. I may have to try that one guys idea about reinstalling or what not. I don't wanna be left behind, and as sharp of a troop as i may be, it sucks to see in my screen, the guy hit a roll as we face off, but then i'm dead in seemingly one shot. Meanwhile, his screen probably shows him lay me low with at least 2-4. Good stuff, and i'm not mad at patch 1.4 or EA/DICE, i actually like this patch so far and i have NO problems with it (KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!). Still, i wanna be part of the cool group too...
I've been kicked from a few servers recently for abnormally high ping.Like 200-500.I noticed it was on European servers from UK and DE.So I've tried to stick to US servers,which doesn't make me too thrilled cause those Brits put up a good fight.
Well my pings have dropped from about 60-90 in 1.3 down to 20-30 in 1.4. But I notice the pings jump back to 60-90, when I play on servers that have vehicles. And drop back down to 20-30 on IO servers.
One server I play on most of the time, went to IO with the 1.4 patch. Changed from a average ping of 60 to 90, down to 20 to 30 average.

Past few days I've been noticing the crazy high ping rate messages.
Was hoping 1.4 would help considerably but starting to wonder.
