A 50 cal would probably penetrate that. Or any high powered sniper rifle.

Insurgents will have to train their headshots skills...

seriously, armor is strong, but bullets are stronger...and whatever type of armor they'll invent, there would be always a better bullet to penetrate it...invincibility doesn't exist

never heard of PDW ammo like the FN 5.7x28mm SS190 ? HK 4.6x30mm ? or Russian amazingly efficient 7n penetrating bullets ? (the first and the second rip kevlars off, the third pierce steel like butter...)

I know chest is a weak and easy to aim part of the body, but humans have legs, arms and a head ! some type of ammunition can easily kill or incapacitate without hitting vital parts !

This looks like it's a non-Newtonian liquid, anybody who's played with cornstarch or arrowroot in the kitchen will be familiar with the basic principle. This has already been used to provide hip protection for elderly people with brittle bones.

Even if there were penetration it would be slowed, that's a start.

Much normal bulletproof-vest material doesn't provide complete protection from full-power rounds either BTW, not to mention specialist projectiles like flechettes.

And don't forget the US helmets are still really only to protect from sharpnel, not bullets (5.56mm NATO can whiz through both sides). Some body armour being shown to the Irish army failed the first test from 9mm handguns.

At a guess, quite a long time since you're not going to make a point of being shot repeatedly just to see if it works
