I just played a round of Daqing Oilfields 16 player IO. It was so fun. The camo really keeps players hidden on that map. It was just like 8 guys vs. 8 guys each advancing in a diff way across the forest, bullets cama from no where, it was awsome. I went like 21 - 7. It was the best fun i've had in a long while with BF2, Jalalabad can suck my big toe, Daqing and Kubra for me .

I played on the CROW IO server, there was no nade spamming, because Daqing is an open map, even on 16 player. There were like 5 snipers total, i went assault, all 21 of my kills were with the Ak-47 and the knife .

I've only been doing it so I can get to Master Sergeant quicker. I'll probably get it 1 or 2 days before school starts, and since I'll be playing less might as well have fun by playing EF and AF on the UTAC server...

Played dragon valley 64 peeps. I ended up with around 70 points, which isn't too bad, but it just take a really long time to get to places. There needs to be cars.

16 player Jalalabad isn't... almost got kicked this evening because I was hammering some admins with hipshots from the AK-101....   people need to adapt faster, going prone is best used for ranged combat now...  all about the strafe and cover

edit: in fact all the 16 player maps suit IO quite well from my experience so far...

IO is like fucking christmas man!!! Now the dirty armour/jet whores are gone i can finally let rip, i've been accused twice of cheating tonight and once was by a silver clover leaf dude!. IO has added a new element to bf2 and has got me rehooked, i got at least 5 100+ rounds and a 150 one as well. The street battles are manic, 10 guys legging it around and pitched gunfights everywhere. Easy kills baby, easy kills.

edit: didnt notice much difference with prone/crouch either, whats wrong there?

certainly in jalalalabad, not played IO in other maps yet, but R2J IO mode also means no artillery.  So it really is the dog's bollocks.

The alternative on Jalalalalbad is for half the MEC to rush over to Lake and the other half to sit around at Outpost (or creep up the hill).  With a UAV up, USMC don't stand a chance and get knocked back to their uncap base.

Had that a couple of times tonight.  Only needs one medic and about four snipers to keep Outpost safe.

I played a lot of Karkand IO last night and it was pretty fun. There wasn't nearly as much grenade spam as I thought there'd be, actually less than the typical armored karkand games. Snipers aren't all that great on IO either, at least in my experience. A lot of the fighting is close quarters for flags. Best I can tell so far, Support is the flavor of the month for IO. I didn't think I'd like it at all, but it's kinda nice not having to worry about artillery and APC's camping spawns. Everything is squishy

I played a little IO kark before heading to work, and it was ok.  The lack of n00b's, err sorry, lieutenants and captains in vehicles thinking their the prawn sure does cut back on my anti tank kills though.  Dunno it's seems nice to play IO sometimes.  Especially when your too shitfaced to realise that you just clicked through all your C4 and blew yourself and the 4 teamates around your jihad mobile up.  Yeah Infantry Only makes playing drunk easy again.

I plan on getting Veteran Knife the same round I get promoted to Master Sergeant, and then the ground defense and air defense badges after I get Master Gunnery (sounds cooler than Sergeant Major IMO).

You must have been playing the same server I was last night...  Actually every map is like that on IO, just stay away from the uncaps...

IO mode is more fun than i thought it would be. I love it on road to jabooboodoo, gun shots seem to come from all around, bullets hit around u even when noone is firing at u. It's awesome. Im still a vehicle whore though
