Installing SF over BF2 1.3

I did a search and nothing pertained to this specifically., so here we go.....

I have BF2 v1.3 installed right now, when I try to install my new copy of BF2:SF I get to about 95% and then it says install failed, please try again! Also when I first start installing SF it says "Sttempting to patch your BF2 to version 1.1 or some stupid shit" that also fails but continues to install to about 95%.....

so do I have to 'fresh' install BF2, then do SF, then do the FULL patch of the new 1.4?

is that the right order? or is there a better way??

Yeah.. That's generally the way to do it.... I'm not sure why they didn't account for new patches when they released SF....

Usual "path" is:

BF2
SF
EF/AF
Patch
Punkbuster

Note that no matter in WHICH order you do things, ALWAYS use the FULL patch, never incremental. And ALSO remember that you will probably STILL get "issues" with various maps/servers (modified content), that's just the patch team for ya.
