This has happend to me and the only solution that worked was re installing the game and re patching with full it was a 1 and a bit hour process to me good luck to everyone.

Other solution:
If you renamed your BF2.exe to something else (to save ressources), remember to name it back to bf2.exe !

if you already changed it and tried to install patch it would fail cause it wouldnt locate the .exe this is for anyone that succesfully patched.
ok i did this... not really knowing what i was doing- i've changed the .exe bk and cant reinstall the patch. what do i have to do next?

I had the same issues last nite with the incremental, it was of little consequence cause a full reinstall with full patch will come on saturday morning, but now it looks like all is back in order!

Yeah i had this problem when I installed 1.3, and 1.22, and 1.21, and 1.2 although not 1.4 (probably 'cause I got the full first this time). I think its with the game not only the patch.
do you rekon downloading the full will make it work? help!

I got this after I renamed the .bik movie files. Every once in a while the screen goes blank like it's trying to load the movies. I wait and tap ESC (don't know if that helps.... cancel movie...) and the log in screen comes up in less than a minute.
Man is this pathetic .. I'm downloading the 1.4 full right now. The incremental failed, probably because I modified my executable because I have a dual-core that constantly disconnects me if I don't run it on a single core.
