I am unable to patch to version 1.4

I have  reinstalled BF2. I have downloaded the patch again (from different places). I have restarted my pc between un-installation and reinstallation. tried both the full patch and the ncremental patch.


So whats wrong?

I dont have a clue, and neither do my clan mates, (including liquidat0r).

SO PLEASE GIVE ME AN ANSWER

When installing, it gets to  21% but Then stops and says: " Patch Failed"

When you reinstalled did you remove all BF2 files, ie. the files located in your My Documents? That could be one reason as i had to do that once and it fixed a problem I had

Dl it from EA downloader.  It took me about three or four minutes to get my game up to speed with 1.4 and I haven't had any problems.

If it says 'patching failed', just try running the patch again.  I had it happen once, ran the patch again, and it worked.

Sometimes the installs of BF2 just get farked up, had to go into the registry and remove mention of BF2/battlefield etc before i could even re-install it previously.

Had no problems with it since though.

And I do like 1.4

Bro, I had the exact same problem as you have now.
I reinstalled the patch SEVERAL TIMES - on itself. The first time you do that, notice the error takes a bit longer to happen, and the second time will be near the end.

The third time you will do this (worked for me in the 3rd time) you will have : 100% and the game WILL run.

update us !

I dont have that error, i just crash... into my desktop, if i start up my bf

Maybe something in the background is blocking it? For example an antivirus program, or perhaps a folder or file is write-protected or read-only. It may also be due to insufficient harddrive space. Also, try installing the incremental or full patch (depending on which of the two, if any, you haven't already tried).

To ToiletTrooper, check that your firewalls have allowed the new BF2.exe to access the internet.
