Friendly fire. It's happened in every war in the history of mankind (except maybe the 45 minute long war in Zanzibar). It's tragic but it does happen, plus you have to appreciate that those planes have saved thousands of soldier's skins in combat. No one is perfect, not even the US (omg!).

I think a T-90 newer than the Challenger, I think you mean T-72's but I could be wrong.

Sorry for knit picking! My taughts go out to Grahams family. Imagine how the pilot feels?  As was said befor this is just one of the many risks taken by service personnal in combat zones.

My Condolences, I hate to see good men fall to friendly fire.

It is a sad fact of war that friendly fire does happen.  Joint operations only complicate communications--which is a leading cause of fratricide.

It's not only about having the best equipment and technology or having the best intel, you still need people to interprete it correctly (and act correctly).
The 'human factor' is source of alot of harm.
