Reinstalling possible using cached (ea download) SF pack?

When I try using the SF2 cached installer I get a cd check error. THe expansion packs installed fine from the cached installers. but a no go with SF2.

I would really not like to have to use the Downloader in the future.

Yeah, EA downloader just sucks. it uses to dam much space, and cant even do his job
But it has one good point: it's faster than downloading files from a overloaded site

About your problem: i had the same problem when did the same thing
(just) download it again and everything runs smoothly again (in case you have'nt done that yet)
