I like the way the Maccers have ignored my topic entirely.

What's your train of thought?

that's not sound logic.  that's like saying a dodge neon is superior to a dodge viper because more people buy them.  macs are better machines, but you can get a pc for $300 that will do all the basic day to day shit 90% of the people in america need.

Discuss.
I used to be a fervent PC user, until it came to a point where I couldnt take it anymore.. software crashing, missing DLLs, system errors.. 3 years ago, i made the switch to Mac and no looking back since.

If I want to play BF2, I'll use the PC and that is all its good for. If I need to use Autocad, well, I will just boot up my PC too. But for graphics, its a Mac and nothing else. There is a Office for Mac which allows interoperability between two different OS for Microsoft Office, so that solved my file problems.

One button mouse? No sweat, just get a regular mouse. Voila!

And frankly, nothing beats hitting the F9/F10/F11 button instead of Alt-Tab:

oh, and my Powerbook G4 has not crashed, ever. The only software that did...guess what, its the stuff written by Microsoft themselves.

tbh, I bought my Mac with the full knowledge of its limited accessibility to games but Mac and OS X is meant for greater stuff than just gaming.

Discussed.

Macs are all looks and no go. Windows or Linux for me as I prefer to be in charge of my system.

Hey, Macs don't get viruses! And you use intel chips to do everything PCs can ALREADY do! Oh wait... what about that whole virsus for PCs thing... and the whole Macs can use PC hardware... crap.

Oh and the mac commercial with the "new camera" that speaks the "same language" as the Mac? HOLY SHIT A PC CAN DO THAT TOO?!?! It's almost as if the people who made the commercials intentionally didn't put that fact in to make their product look better! What is the world coming to?
Actually, you can plug-in just about every BT, USB, FW or other connected device and the Mac recognizes it.
Unlike a PC where 8 out of 10 times I need a CD with drivers. This is done because lots of manufacturers build their hardware in cooperation with Apple for example Cannon EOS > Aperture etc.. etc..

Because I can use any part I want from a HUGE selection, I can replace any part in my PC, I can run multiple OSes with any processor I want, etc.

And can anyone name anything features really that a Mac has and a PC doesn't?

Well I have a g5 tower at home, but i always had to go boot up my gaming rig if I wanted to play bf2. Now I just reboot my macbook pro and game on it. While boot camp is not completely perfect it does allow me to have the best of both worlds. I know a lot of people are pro Microsoft here, but how many of you have actually used a mac for more than 5 mins? Macs can do anything a regular pc can, but the ease of use and the stability and style set it apart. Also people talk about macs being more expensive, try pricing out a regular pc with the same specs and see what the total comes out to be. The latest macpros are actually cheaper than their dell counter parts. Anyways just my opinion.

I've used PC's all my life and was fairly biased towards them until recently. Right now I have a choice: upgrade my PC or buy a Mac...I'm probably going to buy a Mac since I do a lot of creative work. Whenever I want to play a game, I'll just use my PC.

Anyone in Microsoft land ever run Mac OS on your PC?  Didnt think so.

I can run XP or whatever else on my mac notebook that I want and still have the best of both worlds (95% good with Mac...5% with PC).  Of course I only get that blue SOD when I run Microsoft apps on my Mac.

Never had any issues with my mac, cant say the same for my PC......and all I use it for is gaming.

why did they create boot camp... you bought a mac for a reason... and why do you need to run xp? why dont just buy a pc if you want to run xp...

And is that system garanteed to work together with no issues at all? Is the cooling perfect or do you need to assest that? And how much space will that take. I don't know if you have ever seen the interiour of the new MacPro. But that is design taken inside.

stock cooling ftw it will take as much space as a server... since that is close to a server setup. run windows vista on it and see for stability . if microsoft thinks that apple may be a threat to their domination, they will make a new windows bugless really fast. theyre lazy now since theres no hard competition...

Mac only runs well for making your home movies and crap like that. If you want a machine to run for gaming or for business, you need PC's.

I feel I can make this statement because I have had the opportunity to be in a business that has used both platforms on both the client and the server level.  I have had to sit and troubleshoot and do tech support on both platforms. PC wins again.

And a one button mouse does make a difference, because not everyone is a keyboard nazi (I am though) and the settings system for MAC's is something of another nature.

i don't want to use a windows, but unfortunatly i can't play bf2 without it. Apple realizes that some people have to use apps that are not universal(like auto cad, .net, etc) so why not allow them to do both on one machine instead of forcing  them to purchase to different machines.
