ok i've been trying to play around with my settings but for some of them i'm not sure what the hell they do exactly and how they affect my system performance.  So here's my hardware stats:

Pentium4 2.4 Gig
1.5 Gb Ram
Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb agp 8x

I play on a T1 connection so my ping is always 20-30, my network connection is very steady and consistant

I usually run the game at 1280 x 960 with 75 Hz refresh rate.  But i've tried some other resolutions and it could take some getting used to but i'd like to get my settings configured good enough for me to enjoy the graphics but run smooth enough to not get jumpy graphics which happens sometimes.  I typed in the command to display the framerate while playing but i'm not sure what the numbers mean.  I know fps is frames per second, but what is the first number / second number represent in that display for framerate?  Anyway i've looked at some of the graphics options like anti-ailasing and some of the others and have no idea what they do and how having them on/off will affect performance.

So like i said, if anyone has a simillar setup or has some suggestions for me i'm all ears.  Thanks for the help

howdy

if i was you id run it at 1024x768 because you only have 128mb graphics you cant really do alot so turn aa off and your dynamic shadows to low or off try running everythin else on medium if you still go a bit jolty when there is loads of action try turning the terrain to low. really though you should upgrade your gfx card to at least 256mb ddr2. i had the same problems as you as i had a low end 256mb bfg gfx card agp, i upgraded to a 6600 td and that solved the problem for a bit, but i upgraded again cause i wanted more from the game.
i hope this helps m8..
