Sound help

Um yeah, all of a sudden im getting no sound. Everything is where it should be, and I dont know why...
The only thing that I did to my comp this morning was mess with some internet connections, but now the sound isnt working? Any advice? Like I said, everything is plugged in exactly where it should be..

Hrmm stupid but is it turned on?! Headphones not plugged in? Are you getting system sounds or is it just not getting BF2 sounds?

If you have an X-Fi, go into your audio settings and make sure it's not set to software. Sometimes my BF2 reverts to software for some unknown, idiotic reason. Change it back to hardware.

Go to your system device manager and make sure there are no yellow exclamation marks.

try double clicking the speaker icon in the bottom right and make sure none of that stuff got muted. and make sure you don't have a headphone plugged in anywhere. one time i left the 1/4" to 1/8" converter stuck in my audigy's front box thing and was looking through a cable mess for 15 minutes before i noticed it...

Sorry I had to go away for a little bit, um no its ALL sounds that arent working, even windows sounds and sounds from iTunes...No, the sound runs through my speakers, I do have a headphone plugged in but only the microphone part, not the sound port that gives you sound in the headphones...and nothing is muted

Have you tried what kmarion said? That seems the most likely explanation that the drivers have fucked up...

i know its dumb but my little sis uninstalled my soundcard and i had no sound for ages make she u actually got the sound icon in bottom right ?
